Shelleen got her start in the jewelry business making soldered charms for friends and family, so they hold a special place in her heart. She became completely addicted and cannot look at small trinkets without wondering what they will look like soldered. She uses her lumpy, bumpy soldering technique to transform everyday items into whimsical charms. She has soldered such things as recycled swimming pool tiles, keys, glass vase filler, vintage abalone shell buttons, marbles, game pieces, and chandelier crystals, microscope slides, and window glass.
The silverware collection features re-CYCLEd vintage silverware crafted into modern, re-LOVEd treasures. Necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, keychains and more can be created using “everything but the squeal.” Custom orders are always welcome, and Shelleen can even use your own silverware to make your pieces that much more special to you.
The broken china collection features artfully soldered and embellished charms hand-crafted from chipped or broken china. Due to the natural way the dishes break and Shelleen’s unique soldering technique, no two pieces are exactly alike. By Re-Purposing Grandma’s dishes into charms, they are now appreciated and Re-LOVEd on a daily basis instead of forgotten in a cupboard. The copper collection features hand forged and shaped reclaimed copper electrical wire, copper plumbing pipe, or copper roofing remade into necklaces, bracelets, or earrings. Some are embellished with solder, wrapped pearls, or mixed metals, such as brass or silverware pieces.
The custom collection features truly unique jewelry items that were requested and designed specifically for an individual. These items were wedding jewelry, stylish yet functional medic alert jewelry, souvenir pennies, agate slabs, and vintage estate jewelry that just needed a Do-Over!
Shelleen is blessed to share her studio space and her vast vintage flatware collection with her very supportive and creative husband, William - Wym for short. He saw potential critters within some of the shapes of the flatware and another collection was born! Shelleen's idea for knife handle crosses was made tangible by Wym's ability to miter.
Every outfit needs earrings! Shelleen make her earrings from copper electrical wire, mixed metals, fork tines, pennies, or beads from old broken necklaces. She also uses new supplies to create earrings to complement her other designs and charms. All of the earrings are made with stainless steel ear wires.
